Lake Tahoe Air Fest

The annual Lake Tahoe Air Fest, also known as the Lake in the Sky air show, is dubbed the "biggest and best air show in the High Sierra." This festival has been a yearly event for nearly two decades and includes some of the nation's best aerobatic performers, daring sky diving demonstrations, and much more.

Friday, August 24: "Miracle on the Hudson" pilot Captain "Sully" Sullenberger to speak at the "Pre Flight" Party along with featured guests The Manhattan Dolls the fabulous '40s swing style female vocal trio. And meet & greet military pilots and performers. At the Embassy Suites Hotel in South Lake Tahoe/Stateline. Doors will open at 7:00 PM.

Saturday, August 25: You won't want to miss the spectacular opening ceremonies including performances by the Manhattan Dolls and Mooney 'fly bys!' And then get up close to several vintage Warbirds and military static display aircraft, including the Air Forces C-17 Globemaster. Plus many more military aircraft on display.

Details: One of the largest and most comprehensive air festivals in the region, Lake in the Sky includes lots of action on the ground and way above. The highlight of the day is usually the amazing aerobatic performances by some of the country's most amazing flyers.

While that portion of the festival will keep your eyes on the sky, other displays and demonstrations keep visitors grounded. At the Lake Tahoe Air Fest, guests can view vintage planes – including both military and general aviation craft, peruse modern and experimental aircraft, watch precision sky diving, and enjoy hearty food, helicopter rides, and search and rescue demonstrations.
