Details: Actually, Lake Tahoe Marathon "Week" is usually five days long and encompasses the two major running events. The highlight of the week, of course, is the Lake Tahoe marathon itself, which takes runners past breathtaking scenery and up the challenging hills of the southwest portion of the lake.
In addition, however, runners and their families can choose from a host of other things to do. Additional events include fun runs, 5 and 10K kayak races, swimming competitions, cycle rides of various lengths, buffet dinners, and sunset cruises around the lake. Many of the events offer prizes for winners and all marathon and half-marathon runners who complete the races receive finisher medals.
