Details: Spanning six weeks during Tahoe's beautiful summer months – usually early July to mid August - this wonderful theatre event is the best attended festival in Lake Tahoe. In recent years, more than 30,000 individuals have purchased tickets for one or more of the three Shakespearian productions that are staged each year at beautiful Sand Harbor State Park on the shores of North Lake Tahoe. (Lately, the fest has also added some non-Shakespeare offerings as well.)
In addition to the plays, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival also offers a week-long post-season event called "Midsummer Nights", where visitors can enjoy a variety of dance, music, and theatre arts offerings, featuring local, regional, and national talent.
