Overview: Held each March, the great skiing race helps raise money for the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team, a nonprofit organization. The race provides enough money to aid the Rescue Team in purchasing new equipment and to fund winter survival and avalanche education classes.

When: March 4th, 2018

Where: Tahoe Cross Country Ski area

Fees: Entry fees vary. Free to the public to watch

Details: Registration opens in January. Entry fees also award amenities like refreshments, a hot lunch and a chance to win a number of prizes. A party will also be held after the Great Ski Race to celebrate.

To get to the starting line, once in Tahoe City, take highway 28 straight away and a left onto Fabian Way. Take a right on Village Road, a left onto Country Club Drive and arrive at the Tahoe Cross Country entrance. Buses from Truckee's Hilltop Lodge will also be taking skiers and watchers to the entrance.
