Sitting along the lake, its beachfront is almost reminiscent of the old Hollywood coastal beaches and towns, where people can relax with the sun and sand.
Sunnyside California is located on the northwest shore of Lake Tahoe so close to Tahoe City, that the two towns share many of the same activities, attractions, and have the same Chamber of Commerce.
There is only one hotel in Sunnyside, offering lodge and restaurant facilities that have gained the reputation since the 50's of being classically American in style. The twenty-three rooms and suites are simple, but comfortable and affordable.
The restaurant offers the usual beach fair as well as above average American cuisine. It is not uncommon to see tourists come from other parts of the lake to get a taste of their award winning steaks, seafood, patio lunches and intense views of the lake. However, it really comes to life in the evening when it overflows with sophisticated adults relaxing in the local bar or heading down to the marina to take a boat out and view the sunset.
Activities abound, including water skiing, hiking, boating, biking, fishing and even winter skiing. Local attractions are also sure to please with such venues facilities as the local pool and fitness center in the town's community center, a well stocked library and the nearby golf course.
The primary attraction at Sunnyside is, of course, Lake Tahoe and all the fun that can be found both on its shores and on its waters.
